About Kumiko

Kumiko is a rescue-led cat lounge designed for calm, connection, and second chances. A place where cats can settle safely — and where you can slow down beside them. Sessions are intentionally small and uncrowded, creating a peaceful environment where cats can feel at ease and you can enjoy unhurried time in their company.

Step into calm

When cats are given space to settle safely and be themselves, the atmosphere changes — and the people around them feel it too.

Everything we do at Kumiko is designed to protect that balance: a peaceful environment for rescued cats, and a restorative space where you can slow down, breathe, and enjoy the quiet comfort of their company.

Absolutely incredible experience.

The staff were nothing short of fantastic and made us feel incredibly welcome, the atmosphere was so calming and peaceful it felt like walking out of a spa experience afterwards, truly.

We got the last slot of the day so the cats were tired out but they were all still very lovely to be around.

Im so incredibly happy to have come for a visit today! The cats are settling in well, and are all very soft and friendly ❤️ im afraid I wont be able to stay away for long. I will say this too - its far more like visiting the cats at home and having a cuddle than a cafe that happens to have cats, and I think that is a million percent better 🐈

A Kumiko Guest

This is a must if you love cats. It is the most amazing set up for the rescue cats who are there to find their forever homes. Lovely squishy seats for you to relax in surrounded by beautiful felines. The human staff are fabulous, very friendly and helpful.

Carol

This is the best day out ever , for cat people like us. Friendly staff and cats made us feel right at home from moment walked through the door. A real palace for well looked after cats, great knowledgeable staff and drinks or treats to take in to your visit. We have booked to come again. Just fantastic.

Lena

A lovely place doing a great thing. The cats are really content and so well looked after and it is such a clean and beautiful environment for them and humans!

Sophie

Peaceful and calm environment, you get to interact and play with the foster cats and the cat rescue charity is a meaningful cause to support.

Lorraine

I've been to a few cat cafés and this one by far is the most relaxing one! The cats are so cute! The coffee is nice! The staff are wonderful.

Kami

We have visited cat cafes all around the world and Kumiko really exceeded our expectations.

The hot drinks on arrival were great with syrups to choose from and marshmallows for hot chocolates. You can tell the cats are well looked after and it is great to see an owner so passionate about their work.

We will be back!! Thank you again for a lovely experience ❤️🐈

Rachel

A zen atmosphere with a huge focus on cat welfare & human well being!

Anna

It just brings a sense of peace to be here. You walk in , relax and then feel so much better leaving (leaving is the hardest part).

Lily

2 years old

Lily is a timid little girl with very strong opinions about personal space. She likes to do things at her own pace, but with patience and kindness she slowly begins to soften.

*Bonded with Marvin*

Lily and Marvin will be looking for a home together

Dorothy & Sophia

2 years old

Dorothy and Sophia are bonded sisters who must be adopted together. They can be shy at first, but once settled they love attention, cosy beds, and chirping away to each other throughout the day.

Marvin

2 years old

Marvin arrived as a very shy boy still learning to trust people. He has grown in confidence, and now loves being in the middle of things, as well as frolicking and romancing with Lily, his favourite tabby. He's still cautious about human touch, but loves to play, have a sniff of your hand and say hello!

*Lily and Marvin are bonded, so they come as a package, to be adopted together

Mim

Less than 1 year old

Mim is a super-affectionate and sweet girl. She was handed in to the vets as a stray with a very bad case of flea allergy, so she lost some fur and had to be treated to let her skin recover. Curious and playful, at around 8 months old (July 2026), her kitten days are not quite behind her yet.

Trudy

Less than 1 year old

Little Trudy was rescued as a very young kitten from a growing rural colony who’s feeder couldn’t look after them any longer. She *may* be related to one of our original crew, the gorgeous ginger Teddy. She’s very small and quite timid at 7 months (July 2026), but once she has gained your trust she enjoys cuddles and will purr and purr.

Coco

2 years old

Coco had been straying for quite a while. As a long haired cat she had some terrible tats and now has some regrowth! She is super friendly and loves attention. She has an epic rumbling purr. She’s fond of making biscuits and the odd head bump.

Steve

5 years old

Steve was straying for some time in the city before he was rescued. He was handed in to the vets with a limp, that is all healed up now. He’s a shy, but friendly boy.

Toris

7 years old

Look at those stunning green eyes! Toris is a lovely friendly boy. He lived a settled indoor life, but sadly circumstances changed so he’s looking for new people to call home.

Olivia

Less than a year old

Olivia is our super affectionate cow print girl, who climbs on every lap in sight and laps up your attention. Still very young at 7 months old (August 2026) she is eagerly waiting for her forever home.

Mikey

5 years old

Mikey is a quiet kitty that is still settling into Kumiko life. He was found in a poor condition by BKR but has healed wonderfully and is trusting humans more and more everyday. He loves to watch everyone in the lounge from his safe place high up.
